Phase 1 - Initial Ideas
The best place to start with any story is the foundations with what makes it.

The Impromptus
The first phase of any form of creation is to mindmap, brainstorm and write down any ideas that you have. However, not wanting to repeat old stories that have been done before by using other peoples source material.
So, with the help of several friends and a technique used by English-Drama majors, I'm using Impromptu Pitches to decide on a plot rather than trying to think of one on the spot to do which would inveritably disintergrate or become bland to me.
Every person was allowed to suggest two themes per prompt, which could include a random quote, lines from songs, tropes, cast types, plot points, random objects, McGuffin Devices, Scenes We'd Like To See, settings, genres. Then of the best 4 combinations I'd look at what would have good potential to develop further.
Set 1 - Girl Gang
-
All Female Cast
-
International Crime
-
“All You Need Is Love”
-
Hell is where the Party’s at
-

-

-

-

-

-

-
“Wrong Place, Right Time, Be there.”
Set 2 - Neon Mages
-
Genderless Protagonist
-
Modern Magic
-
Obscure Words
-
"What goes up must come down.”
-
“Et Tu Brutus” (Betrayed by a Friend)
-

Set 4 - David Bowie in a Trenchcoat?
-
“It’s Probably Nothing”
-
Trenchcoat Brigade
-
David Bowie
-
Tomboy Princess
-
Magnificent Bastard
-
“Not My Lucky Day”
There were about 10 different sets, some of them weirder and more confusing than others such as Curtains, Animal Horns, The Dichotomy of Good and Evil, Donald Trump's Tupeé and Paper Clips.
The whole point of the Impromptus was to give prompts that could easily be developed upon and have multipul possible stories. Not all the prompts need to be used in context or even outright obvious, so long as it helps to lead onto more development.
Out of all of the 4 potential prompts I think that I'll go with Set 2, because the idea of a Genderless Protagonist could mean many things, and there can be a lot fun involved with Modern Magic.

Set 2 Story Ideas
Because I've decided to go with prompt 2, that could lead to many possible outcomes, however deciding on a direction is where it gets going. Some narrative flavours will change the audience type and what the style may be.
1 - Starts mid way through with Protag falling down onto group of people, before skipping back to the build up. Urban exploring gone wrong and interupting a very important meeting, that turns into a semi-accidental kidnapping and near murder when discovered by one of the atendees. Then turns into Ferret being pressganged/employed by their kidnapper (a glorious bastard) who wants to change things/fuck shit up. Ferret goes along with it.
-
2 - Heist??? IDK i want some crime adventures and thrills. Breaking into a lab to steal some tech for these little neo-mages and technomancers. Not sure where i'm going with this one. Come back to later.
3 - Starts with a bike chase (3 bikes, 2 people on each bike) and magic flying everywhere. Gang of 6 on the run from people on erethral steeds. Two of the bikes are knocked off a tall suspension bridge but all 4 riders save themselves. Protag on the back of the remaining bike, telling their driver to ride faster before also being flung off by a crash.
- why ??? figure out later
⦁ Protag stole a thing??
⦁ Is a wanted criminal and part of a girlgang?????
⦁ Wrong time wrong place, be there??
- Possibly use Zaff, Nalia, and Alice. ??? Girls whose designs i like but havent used.
After a short break and considering the options, number 3 felt like it held the most prospect for me eventhough i did try and see if i could write out something for it which might have been of intrest. It didnt feel solid with what i had, so turned my attention to number 3 and feel like I have a direction whcih i can go in.
